Unlike solid or laminated surfaces, Silestone is resistant to heat and burns. It resists to heat without getting stains. Anyway, it is advisable not to abuse its characteristics. It is recommended not to leave receptacles that have just moved from the fire, oven or microwave, etc, over the surface for a long time. Use any support or tablemat to protect it.

There are only three natural stones (diamond, sapphire and topaz) harder than quartz. This makes that Silestone is high resistant to scratches. Taking in consideration the Mohs hardness scale, the position of the quartz is 7 (diamond is 10). Therefore, using the same knife in different surfaces, Silestone will not be scratched easily. Silestone is high resistant to scratches, however it is recommended not to abuse its characteristics.

Thanks to its excelent features, Silestone needs a limited maintenance. Silestone recommends the use of Cif for the worktop maintenance. Use a cloth with a little bit of Cif Cream or pour directly to clean oil stains. Rub until the stain disappears. Rinse with water.
